UPDATE AS OF MARCH 7, 2025:

We want you to know that you’ve been heard. We deeply value the voices of our community and appreciate those of you who have shared thoughtful feedback about parking at the resort. Transparency is important to us, and we’re committed to reassessing the parking plan for next season and appreciate your patience as we do so.

UPDATE AS OF FEBRUARY 28, 2025:

We are committed to providing flexible parking options with a mix of paid and free carpool elements to address the parking challenges at the resort. Next winter, we will require reservations on weekends (Saturday – Sunday) and peak periods until 10am in all alpine lots at Stevens Pass, with a mix of paid and free carpool (4+) elements.

  • If parking in any alpine lot at Stevens Pass on a weekend or peak period before 10am, guests must secure a reservation in advance via www.parkstevenspass.com (regardless of how many people are in the vehicle). Paid reservations for those not carpooling 4+ are $20/vehicle.
  • Parking reservations on weekends and peak dates are free when carpooling with 4+ people, a single adult with two kids aged 12 and under, or guests utilizing ADA parking.
  • In addition, guests who book a lesson will need to make a parking reservation to park during weekends and peak periods; however, the reservation will be free. Our Ski and Ride School will provide more information about parking reservations prior to the scheduled lesson.
  • Free parking without a reservation is available after 10am on weekends and peak periods if space allows. We encourage guests looking for free parking on weekends to arrive after 1pm, when additional spots are expected to be available.
  • Guests also have the option to visit on non-peak weekdays, when reservations are not required and all alpine lots are free on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Proceeds from parking reservations are being reinvested into upgrades to parking and amenities. This year, the resort is partnering with the US Forest Service to pursue the installation of additional vault toilets in the parking lots, pending US Forest Service approval. The resort will also begin a multi-year project to upgrade the lots for improved accessibility and convenience.

Please note that these changes will not go into effect until November 2025. There will be no changes to the current parking plan for the remainder of the 2024/25 winter season, which concludes on April 13 (conditions permitting).

Please see our FAQ's below for more information.

Tips for Mountain Travel

During the winter, we can come into contact with some difficult driving conditions. Here are some tips to be prepared for winter driving: Vehicle Driving Preparedness

We strongly recommend that vehicles driving up to Stevens Pass are outfitted with Snow/Winter tires, or at least All Season tires. We also encourage all drivers to carry tire chains. Conditions can change quickly and chains are often required during storms. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) hosts information about winter driving that can be found here.

Stevens Pass FAQS - Winter 2025/26

Q: Why are you making this change/why now?
A: Parking challenges have been an issue and a top priority at Stevens Pass for quite a while. After taking a multi-year, deep dive into our current parking practices, analyzing our parking capacity and constraints, learning from other resorts across the industry, and much consideration and conversation here at the resort, we believe that expanding the paid/reservations-based program to all of our alpine lots during weekends and peak periods can, and will, make a positive difference.

Q: Which parking lots will be reserved lots?
A: For the 2025/26 season, all alpine lots will be reserved parking on weekends and peak periods, which includes numbered Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, and lettered Lots A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Our satellite lot at Yodelin will continue to be utilized for overflow alpine parking.

For the current 2024/25 season, Lots G, A, B, and E are reserved parking on weekends and peak periods.

Q: When you say reservations are available during “peak periods,” what does that mean?
A: In addition to weekends, peak periods for the 2025/26 season at Stevens Pass are:

  • December 22-23
  • December 26
  • December 29-January 2
  • January 19
  • February 16

There are no peak dates remaining in the 2024/25 season.

Q: How are you defining the “weekend?”
A: We define the weekend period as Saturday and Sunday.

Q: What hours of the day will reservations be required/paid parking be enforced during weekends and peak periods?
A: Reservations will be required until 10am on weekends and during peak periods.

Q: Where can I make a reservation and how far in advance can I make it?
A: Reservations are available to book starting November 1, 2025, and can be made or updated throughout the season at parkstevenspass.com.

Q: How will this parking system be managed?
A: We have partnered with a third-party management company. The third-party company uses license plate verification to confirm reservations, and our parking attendants validate vehicle occupancy for carpool reservations.

Q: How many people in one vehicle are required to qualify for free carpool parking?
A: To park for free in any of our lots on weekends and peak periods, you will need four (4) or more people in a single vehicle or be a single adult with two children aged 12 and under. No matter how many people you have in your vehicle, you must still make a reservation to park on weekends and peak periods before 10am.

Q: I understand all the lots require reservations on weekends and peak periods until 10am, but what about during the week?
A: All of our lots will remain free, regardless of how many passengers are in a single vehicle, with no reservations required, Monday-Friday (excluding weekday peak dates).

Q: If I’m making a reservation, do I pay at the parking lot or do I do so ahead of time online?
A: Payment for parking is required online at the time of reservation. If you have 4+ people in your vehicle or are a single adult with two children ages 12 and under, parking is free, but a reservation is still required.

Q: What if I made a reservation that qualifies as free, but I end up not being eligible for that qualification on the day of my reservation (ex: someone in my party is unable to attend and we are no longer 4+ in our vehicle)?
A: We understand that plans change. If you no longer meet the requirement for a free reservation when you arrive, we can help you update and pay for your reservation on site.

Q: What if there’s a road or resort closure on a day that I have a parking reservation?
A: Your parking reservation will be canceled and automatically refunded if the resort is closed or not accessible on the morning of your reservation. We reserve the right to extend reservations for temporary road closures or unforeseen delays.

Q: How far in advance do you expect parking reservations to fill?
A: Reservations can sell out quickly, especially when there are events and powder days. We recommend securing your reservation up to two weeks or more in advance if you would like to park in any of our alpine lots before 10am on weekends or peak periods.

Q: What should I do if reservations are unavailable for the day(s) I’m planning to visit?
A: We understand that some people like to plan trips months in advance, while others prefer last-minute plans. Our system is designed to accommodate both. To provide everyone a chance to secure parking, additional reservations will be released every Thursday for the upcoming weekend. Additionally, canceled reservations will be automatically reopened for booking, so check back regularly for availability.

Q: How many reservations can I make at once?
A: Each guest may hold up to five reservations at one time. Once a reservation has been used, guests can add another to their account to return back to five at any one time. There is no limit to how many reservations a guest can make throughout the course of the season.

Q: How can I cancel a reservation?
A: You may cancel reservations via our parking reservations website. Cancellations can be made for a refund until 7am the morning of the reservation. Consistent no-shows may be restricted from making additional reservations.

Q: What happens if I make a reservation and don’t show up?
A: If you no longer plan to use your reservation, you must cancel by 7am the day of your planned arrival for a refund. We reserve the right to restrict anyone’s ability to make future reservations if the reservation system is being abused or manipulated in any way.

Q: Is there a cutoff time to make a reservation?
A: No. Until reservations are sold out for any given day, you can make a reservation up to the time you arrive.

Q: What happens if I don’t have/can’t get a reservation for the paid lots on a weekend or peak period?
A: For the 2025/26 season, if you do not have a reservation for any of our lots on a weekend or peak period, it means we will be at 100% parking capacity and will not be able to accommodate your vehicle until after 10am. We encourage guests without a reservation to arrive after 1pm, when parking spots are expected to be available.

For the 2024/25 season, Lots C, D, 1, 2, 3, and 4 do not require a reservation and are first-come, first-served on weekends and peak periods.

Q: What if I am driving a rental vehicle and don’t have my plate information yet to make a reservation?
A: When you make your reservation, add your private vehicle license plate number to make the reservation. When you receive your rental car, log in to your account and change your license plate number to match your rental car plates. Please note that changes must be made before 7am on the day of your reservation.

Q: I have an ADA/Disabled license plate or placard. Do I need to make a parking reservation?
A: Yes, if you have an ADA placard or disabled license plate, you will need to make a reservation for parking on weekends and peak periods. However, these spots will be free.

Please note, for the 2024/25 season, reservations are not required for guests with an ADA placard or disabled license plate.

Q: What if there’s a delay on the highway due to unforeseen circumstances and I can’t make it to the resort by 10am? How will I know if my spot will still be available?
A: The resort will use its discretion to extend reservations beyond 10am due to traffic and other weather or operational impacts.

Q: What if my license plate is covered in snow or not visible?
A: It is your responsibility to ensure your license plate is clear and visible upon arrival. If we are unable to verify your reservation, a parking violation may be issued.

Q: Why don’t you offer free reserved parking?
A: Reserved parking is free for any vehicle with 4+ passengers, a vehicle with a single adult and two children ages 12 and under, or guests utilizing ADA parking.

Q: If I have a lesson booked with Ski & Ride School on a weekend or peak period, do I need a reservation?
A: Yes, you will need to make a parking reservation to park during weekends and peak periods; however, for the 2025/26 season, your reservation will be free. Our Ski and Ride School will provide more information about parking reservations prior to your scheduled lesson.

Q: If my child is on a visiting race team, do I need a reservation?
A: Yes, for the 2025/26 season, a reservation will be required during weekends and peak periods. For visiting race teams, we highly recommend and encourage carpooling with other team families. For SPAC program participants, additional information will be sent to race/freeride team families.

Q: Is there a season-long parking pass I can purchase for every weekend and peak period?
A: Not at this time.

Q: Will Lot F be part of reserved parking?
A: Lot F will remain our RV overnight camping lot and reservations are required and can be booked on our website (stevenspass.com). The process to make a reservation for the RV Lot will remain the same – it is separate from standard vehicle reservations

Q: What is the cost of paid parking during weekends and peak periods?
A: Our new reservations-based parking for the 2025/26 season is free for vehicles with 4+ occupants or a single adult with two children aged 12 and under and applies on weekends and peak periods until 10am. ADA access and any guest with a lesson booked for that day will also be provided with a free reservation. If you arrive after 10am, no reservation is needed, and parking is free on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking availability is not guaranteed, and we recommend arriving after 1pm for the best space availability.

If you are making a reservation for a vehicle with less than four people and you do not meet any of the exceptions, the reservation will cost $20/vehicle. Reservations are required ahead of time, regardless of how many occupants you have in your vehicle or if you meet any of the exceptions

Q: What if my car doesn’t fit three additional people and ski gear and I don’t want to pay for a reservation?
A: If you are unable to carpool with 4+, we recommend utilizing park-and-ride locations to meet up with other guests, using the drop-off at Lot A, or consider planning your visit for the afternoon or during a mid-week, non-peak period.

For the current 2024/25 season, Lots C, D, 1, 2, 3, and 4 do not require a reservation and are first-come, first-served.

Q: Where will the revenue go from the parking program?
A: Proceeds from parking reservations are being reinvested into upgrades to parking and amenities. This year, the resort is partnering with the US Forest Service to pursue the installation of additional vault toilets in the parking lots, pending US Forest Service approval. The resort will also begin a multi-year project to upgrade the lots for improved accessibility and convenience.

Q: Where will employees park on the weekends and peak periods?
A: Employees can still park for free in designated employee parking and do not need a reservation at any time.

Q: Will you be offering a shuttle from Monroe?
A: We currently do not have plans to provide a shuttle service.

Q: What about parking in satellite lots?
A: Our satellite lot at Yodelin will continue to be utilized for overflow alpine parking. We will no longer utilize the Nordic Center for alpine overflow parking. Nordic Center parking will be for Nordic Center guests only.
