To help prepare you for a career as a snowsports instructor, the Stevens Pass Ski and Snowboard School is putting on our Spring Instructor Academy. Our top instructors will guide you through the process of becoming a professional snowsports coach.
The academy will cover how to teach basic skiing and snowboarding (•green runs and lower)
- The physical steps to teach a student
- How to understand a students learning style and fit your teaching methods to that student
- What to expect from students at different stages of their lives mentally, emotionally, and physically
- The common problems faced by new skiers and snowboarders of different ages and how to resolve them
- And more…
Once you have signed up you will receive a workbook and more detailed instructions regarding the course.
After this course you will be ready to begin a new career as a professional snowsports instructor. The Stevens Pass Ski and Snowboard School will set up interviews with candidates interested in teaching for Stevens during the 2009-2010 season.
